Krokbragd, which translates to “crooked path”, is a three-shaft twill pattern typically woven on a floor loom. This rug, however, was woven manually on a large frame loom. This required engaging the hands, eyes, and memory to do the work that on a floor loom, threading patterns, foot pedals, and shafts would do for you.

Colorful, richly textured rugs ground you in your space. This thick handwoven rug is perfect for the bedside, hearth, or hallway.

To mount on the wall, use small nails or tacks through the weft at the top and bottom of the rug. Be sure to use 3 or more per end to avoid drooping or putting too much pressure on the fiber.

This krokbragd tapestry was woven manually on a large frame loom. This required engaging the hands, eyes, and memory to do the work that on a floor loom, threading patterns, foot pedals, and shafts would do for you. Adding curved lines and circles further pushed the limitations of the technique, and allowed me to infuse my tapestry “voice” into this very traditional pattern.

Jupiter is thought of as the planet of abundance, growth, and expansion. It motivates us to have the courage to explore new horizons, and trust that abundance will come on the other side. It felt fitting to sit with these concepts during the many hours spent weaving this large Jupiter tapestry as I enter a phase of exploration and new direction in my work.
